OUR HISTORY
2013
Next Level Basketball was founded in 2013 by Jonathan Ramos and Brandon Harris.
2014
By 2014, we opened our first facility in Hollywood, Florida, which featured a half court to train players on. This initial facility, endearingly called "the Hole," had no air conditioning for most of its existence and quickly gained a reputation as a place for rigorous and professional player development.

2015
In 2015, Serg Arzanov joined the team as a managing partner and moved forward with Ramos on pushing our vision forward.
2023
In 2023, nearly a decade after our first facility opened, we moved to our new facility, Next Level Basketball Hollywood, which is a 12,000 square foot palace with a full court and multiple half courts to train on, a weight room, and a 16' x 9' big screen for film sessions, watching games and other events.

2024
With the growth in space, we have expanded to offer athletic development (strength and conditioning, performance) to our players and house club teams that compete in travel and AAU basketball. We look at our foundational first decade of existence as a time where we grew our knowledge of coaching basketball and developing players, while also understanding the sport and its place in our society.
OUR IDENTITY

Player Development Methodology & Elevating the Game
Methodological assumptions inform the methods every coach uses on the basketball court, and we are no different. We distinguish between two methodological approaches. Firstly, traditional training assumes that players need instruction before they can develop the motor skills needed to perform. Dynamic training, on the other hand, is a broad term we use to describe more contemporary training approaches that assume that player development is optimized in environments that are more representative of the game.
We identify as a dynamic training organization. As an organization that is committed to staying informed on the most current research in skill acquisition and player development, our goal is to create skilled, adaptable players who can make good decisions on the court. Check out more about the methodological foundations NEXT LEVEL METHODOLOGY.

We are committed to developing people as much as we are players. This starts with our standards. A Next Level person is disciplined. A Next Level person demonstrates consistent and strong effort, and honors their word. We create an environment where these qualities can develop in people, with instruction on communication, leadership and time management. Players in our program receive mentorship from coaches, but also receive resources to further develop off the court.

Next Level Basketball’s Player Development Program is based on the Next Level Basketball System. The first pillar of this system is that players participate in athletic development, skill development and club team components. We do this to ensure that players are balancing team play with skill and athletic development. The second pillar of this system is that players are placed in groups based on skill level (Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3). We believe that this approach is effective because players will hover around an optimal challenge point, which posits that learning is most efficient when people are challenged just enough–but not to the point of overwhelm or underwhelm. The third pillar of this system is the Next Level Basketball Standardized Curriculum (NLBSC), which is taught in six monthly increments in our skill development component. Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 players are exposed to the curriculum in varying levels of difficulty.
